Vice President, Treasurer
Location: Austin, TX (must reside in Austin)

A high-growth, startup data center company is seeking a Vice President, Treasurer to build and lead the treasury function during a critical phase of expansion. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in an environment where no two days look the same and infrastructure, capital, and execution intersect.

This individual will play a key role in shaping capital strategy, supporting large-scale infrastructure development, and partnering closely with executive leadership on financing initiatives tied to power and data center growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all treasury functions, including liquidity management, capital structure, and banking relationships
  • Drive capital markets strategy, including debt issuance, refinancing, and investor engagement
  • Oversee and execute project finance initiatives tied to data center and power infrastructure development
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to structure and fund complex projects
  • Manage cash forecasting, risk management, and financial controls in a high-growth environment
  • Support strategic decision-making with a strong understanding of financing options tied to energy and infrastructure assets
  • Build scalable treasury processes and infrastructure from the ground up

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Treasurer within a corporate environment (not purely banking)
  • Deep capital markets experience, including direct involvement in debt and financing transactions
  • Proven project finance experience, ideally within infrastructure, energy, or related sectors
  • Background in power generation, utilities, or energy strongly preferred (data center experience is a plus, but power exposure is critical)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to interface with lenders, investors, and senior leadership

What They’re Looking For

  • Someone who has sat in the seat and can own the treasury function—not a step-up candidate from banking
  • A builder mindset—comfortable creating structure where it doesn’t yet exist
  • Commercially minded—able to connect financing strategy to real-world infrastructure and power needs
  • Adaptable and steady—this is a startup environment where priorities move quickly
