Training Manager – Global Law Firm downtown Houston – HYBRID
The Training Manager will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s substantive legal training programming and managing the legal training team. This position reports to the Director of User Services and oversees a team of training professionals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and accreditation of all internal and external substantive legal education programs, including new associate, departmental, practice group and client programs
- Possess and maintain a strong knowledge base of all relevant state MCLE requirements and ensure compliance with all relevant requirements
- Identify training initiatives to address evolving attorney and administrative needs and work with partners and/or outside consultants to develop appropriate content
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders to refine annual programs
- Research and implement new training strategies, including based on relevant technology, adult learning research, and industry data
- Respond to attorney and staff questions regarding CE Manager, outside MCLE vendors, MCLE requirements, the MCLE process, and other related matters
- Evaluate programs on a regular basis and report on efficacy based on program metrics and qualitative feedback
- Produce learning resources for attorneys, including tip sheets, FAQs, articles and monthly newsletter content
- Provide management, collaboration, coaching and career development guidance to the training team members
- Effectively manage the MCLE training budget and complete budget forecasts annually
- Assist with curriculum design and general planning of the New Lawyer and Mid-Level Academies
- Collaborate with the Director of User Services and other department members to implement long-term and/or special global projects

- Strong skills in MS Word and PowerPoint, as well as demonstrated proficiency in Excel
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- 5+ years’ experience in an adult education role in a global law firm, large company, legal training provider, or professional services company
- 5+ years supervisory experience
- CE Manager experience is a plus
