Oil & Gas Title Attorney (Remote Optional)
Duvera's client is seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Title Attorney to join its growing legal team in a remote, hybrid, or in-office capacity based on the employee's preference.
This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong foundation in oil and gas transactions, title examination, and upstream acquisitions and divestitures who thrives in a lean, deal-focused environment.
What You’ll Do
- Examine and render oil and gas title opinions involving mineral, leasehold, and surface interests
- Identify title defects and prepare curative documents, including affidavits, ratifications, and corrective instruments
- Review and negotiate oil and gas leases, assignments, and conveyance documents
- Conduct title due diligence for upstream acquisition and divestiture transactions
- Support transactions from LOI through closing, including purchase and sale agreement review
- Draft assignments, closing documents, and post-closing instruments
- Coordinate with landmen, engineers, and outside counsel during transactions
- Review easements, rights-of-way, and midstream agreements related to asset transfers
- Assist with entity structuring, operating agreements, and corporate governance matters
What They’re Looking For
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD)
- Experience in oil and gas transactional practice
- Experience with mineral title examination, lease review, and conveyancing
- Experience supporting upstream acquisition and divestiture transactions
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters
