Probate Paralegal – Houston, TX (Midsize Law Firm) – HYBRID

A respected midsize law firm in Houston is seeking an experienced Probate Paralegal to support its busy estate planning and probate practice. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client‑focused environment, enjoys managing detailed casework, and is comfortable navigating Texas probate procedures from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
•     Prepare, file, and manage probate applications, inventories, accountings, and related court documents
•     Draft correspondence, affidavits, consents, waivers, and other probate‑related pleadings
•     Coordinate and track deadlines, hearings, and court requirements across multiple counties
•     Communicate with clients, executors, beneficiaries, and third‑party institutions (banks, title companies, financial advisors)
•     Assist attorneys with estate administration tasks, including asset collection, creditor claims, and distribution schedules
•     Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with firm and court procedures
• Research property records, heirship information, and estate assets
•     Support attorneys with estate planning document preparation as needed (wills, powers of attorney, trusts)
•     Manage e‑filing through Texas eFile and maintain accurate docketing entries
Qualifications
•     3+ years of probate or estate administration experience in a law firm setting
•     Strong understanding of Texas probate procedures and local court rules
•     Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple active matters
•     Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•     Proficiency with legal software, e‑filing systems, and Microsoft Office
•     Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative legal team
•     Professional, client‑service‑oriented demeanor
Preferred Skills
•     Experience with estate planning document drafting
•     Familiarity with Clio, ProLaw, NetDocuments, or similar case management systems
•     Notary Public commission (or willingness to obtain)
