Pricing Manager – Law Firm -HOUSTON
Duvera Consulting is partnering with a leading law firm seeking an experienced Pricing Manager to join its Finance & Accounting team. This highly visible role will lead pricing initiatives and work directly with attorneys, firm leadership, business development professionals, and clients to develop sophisticated pricing strategies that support profitability and client objectives.
The ideal candidate will bring 5–7 years of legal pricing experience and a strong combination of financial modeling, data analysis, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop profitable and competitive pricing solutions for client RFPs, proposals, and other formal and informal pricing requests.
- Advise attorneys on rate and fee negotiations using pricing expertise, financial analysis, and historical firm data.
- Develop and evaluate alternative fee arrangements and other customized pricing structures.
- Partner with practice group leaders and attorneys to create matter budgets and pricing solutions tailored to client needs.
- Lead and appropriately allocate the workload and responsibilities of the pricing team.
- Serve as the primary owner of the firm’s matter budgeting, monitoring, and reporting platform.
- Analyze historical billing, realization, collection, and other financial data to identify trends and inform pricing decisions.
- Identify and implement tools and data solutions that improve the firm’s ability to effectively price legal services.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing pricing-related language for RFP responses and non-standard engagement terms.
- Present complex financial and pricing analyses clearly to attorneys, firm management, and other stakeholders.
- Stay current on legal-industry pricing trends, alternative fee arrangements, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field required.
- 5–7 years of legal pricing experience required.
- Strong financial modeling and advanced spreadsheet skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and manipulate financial data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft polished client-facing language.
- Ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts clearly to attorneys, senior management, and clients.
- Strong project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Highly detail-oriented with sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills.
- Professional, proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working with senior-level stakeholders.
