JOB DESCRIPTION – Litigation Legal Assistant
Fast-paced inner-loop law firm seeks an experienced, hard working, dedicated and creative individual to serve as a hands-on, key member of the firm’s Litigation Group.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of heavy litigation experience; excellent communication skills – both oral and written; be detail with excellent follow-through skills; able to work well under pressure and meet demanding deadlines; possess a strong client service attitude; be self-motivated, punctual and reliable; have excellent organizational skills; and function as a member of a team.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in drafting, formatting and proofreading motions, pleadings, discovery and correspondence
• E-filing with all Courts in compliance with local, state and federal rules
• Assist attorneys for hearings, depositions, trial and arbitration
• Calendaring deadlines, meetings, court dates, depositions, etc. (including follow-up and management of deadlines with key personnel)
• Communicate with court personnel regarding hearings and trial setting
• State and Federal court filings and records search
• Providing assistance with trial preparation, including preparation of trial notebooks and exhibits
• Schedule and notice depositions, prepare deposition notebooks and exhibits for attorneys
• Preparation of client documents for production to opposing side
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals inside and outside the firm including attorneys, support staff, clients, vendors and consultants
• Perform general administrative duties to support office operations.
Key Qualifications
• MS Office Suite proficiency required
• Acrobat Adobe Pro required
• IManage experience preferable
• Coyote experience preferable
