Litigation Associate – Houston, TX
A Houston-based law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with 1–3 years of experience to join its team. This role focuses on commercial litigation, handling matters from case inception through discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial. The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal skills, maturity, a willingness to learn, and the ability to manage a demanding workload in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Research, analyze, and draft briefs on complex legal issues, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment, motions to compel, and appellate briefing
• Draft pleadings and maintain proof charts
• Prepare discovery, conduct legal research, and support case strategy
• Make court appearances for hearings and trials
• Participate in administrative hearings before agencies such as OSHA, the Texas Medical Board, and CMS
• Assist with and attend depositions
• Participate in mediations
• Collaborate closely with partners, senior associates, and paralegals to ensure alignment with case strategy
Requirements
• Active member in good standing with the Texas State Bar
• Ability to manage and synthesize large volumes of documents and data
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
• Strong organizational and project‑management abilities with attention to accuracy
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Experience practicing in both State and Federal courts
