Growing boutique litigation law firm located in downtown Houston is seeking a File Clerk/Receptionist to join their team.
Duties:
- Organize, maintain, and update physical and electronic legal files, ensuring they are accurate and accessible.
- Retrieve and deliver files as requested by attorneys and staff.
- Prepare and process legal documents for filing and distribution.
- Scan, photocopy, and archive documents to maintain up-to-date records.
- Monitor and adhere to document retention policies and confidentiality protocols.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, correspondence.
- Support attorneys and paralegals with ad hoc projects as needed.
Receptionist Duties:
- Greet and assist clients, vendors, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Answer, screen, and route phone calls, taking messages when necessary.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the office calendar.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including courier services.
- Handle general inquiries and provide information about the firm's services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or related coursework is a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in a legal or administrative setting preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and familiarity with legal software is a plus.
