The ideal candidate brings experience from a government office, political communications environment, public affairs consultancy, or similarly high-profile organization where discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate sensitive issues are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic external communications initiatives supporting the company's growth, reputation, and public affairs objectives.

  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, government officials, lobbyists, and key external stakeholders.

  • Lead crisis communications and develop messaging strategies for sensitive, controversial, or rapidly evolving situations.

  • Prepare press releases, official statements, executive talking points, and public-facing communications.

  • Collaborate with government affairs representatives and external consultants to ensure consistent, effective messaging.

  • Anticipate political, regulatory, and reputational issues that could impact the organization.

  • Support communications surrounding infrastructure development, community engagement, and government relations.

  • Advise leadership on public positioning, media engagement, and stakeholder communications.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Significant experience in public affairs, external communications, government communications, or political media relations.

  • Background as a press secretary, government communications director, public affairs director, or senior communications strategist highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated experience managing crisis communications and politically sensitive matters.

  • Strong understanding of government relations, legislative processes, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Exceptional writing, interpersonal, and executive communication skills.

  • Ability to navigate complex issues with diplomacy, discretion, and sound judgment.

  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, development, or another highly regulated industry is a plus.

  • Established relationships within Texas government, media, or public affairs circles would be particularly valuable.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to play an influential role within a rapidly expanding infrastructure company operating at the intersection of technology, energy, economic development, and public policy. The successful candidate will bring the political awareness, communications expertise, and professional relationships needed to navigate an increasingly visible and complex business environment.
