Director of Administration – Houston

Director of Administration to oversee the day-to-day operations of its Houston office. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, supporting firmwide initiatives, and ensuring a seamless, high-performing office environment.

This individual will serve as a key liaison between the Houston office and firm leadership, working closely with Partners-in-Charge, the COO, and firmwide department heads.

Key Responsibilities

Office Leadership & Operations

  • Lead all aspects of office administration, facilities, and operations
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, productivity, and exceptional client service
  • Partner with firmwide departments (HR, Finance, IT, Marketing, Recruiting, etc.) to ensure alignment and efficiency
  • Oversee vendor relationships, office services, and day-to-day logistics

Financial Management

  • Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, and expense oversight
  • Identify cost efficiencies while maintaining service quality

Strategic Operations

  • Drive space planning, office utilization, and upcoming build-outs/renovations
  • Oversee conference services, office communications, and workplace experience
  • Act as a key partner in operational strategy and execution

Human Resources Leadership

  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and staff development for the Houston office
  • Manage employee relations, performance management, and compensation cycles
  • Partner with firm HR leadership on policies, compliance, and talent strategy

Additional Impact

  • Lead internal and client-facing events
  • Support technology initiatives and office-wide change management efforts

Ideal Background

  • 8+ years of leadership experience in a professional services environment (law firm strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to manage operations, people, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience with space planning, office build-outs, or workplace strategy
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented leader with sound judgment and executive presence
