Controller
Houston, Texas (On-Site)
Our client, a Houston-based law firm, is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations. This role is responsible for the integrity of the Firm’s financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting systems, and works closely with the Managing Partner, Partners, attorneys, and staff.
The ideal candidate is a CPA who is detail-oriented, client-focused, tech-savvy, and comfortable leading teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position is fully on-site in the Firm’s Houston office.
Responsibilities

Lead all accounting activities, reporting, and internal controls

Supervise the Accounting Department and monthly close process

Prepare cash flow statements and financial reporting packages

Maintain NetSuite and oversee expense reimbursement systems

Partner with external tax accountants on quarterly estimates, Form 1065, and K-1s

Oversee trust accounting and settlement processes

Provide ad hoc financial reporting to firm leadership
Qualifications

CPA required
-
10+ years of multi-entity, high-volume accounting experience

5+ years of supervisory experience

Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and accounting systems

Law firm experience, particularly in a mass tort environment, preferred
