Midsize law firm with a convenient central location and free parking has a NEWLY created position for a Business Development & Marketing Specialist. Position is 100% onsite.

The specialist will be responsible for advancing the law firm’s brand generally, as well as helping the firm’s attorneys build strong relationships with potential new clients. The specialist will be self- motivated, an independent thinker, outgoing, have attention to detail, work independently and collaboratively, be creative and willing to bring new ideas to the table.
Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing business development coaching and strategic and tactical assistance to attorneys to help grow their practices
  • Plan and coordinate meetings between firm’s attorneys and prospects or clients
  • Attend and provide recap of client events to attorneys
  • Work with attorneys to communicate firm’s successes to clients and prospects
  • Meet weekly with firm’s leadership to discuss status of business development and marketing efforts and upcoming plans
  • In collaboration with firm’s attorneys, coordinate responses to RFQs and RFPs
  • Develop and curate content for and manage distribution of firm’s client and marketing mailings/newsletters
  • Develop and manage a system for attorney award nominations
  • Build targeted media lists, develop media materials, and conduct media outreach
  • Identify and secure opportunities for firm’s attorneys to serve as media spokespeople on relevant issues, write bylined articles for key media outlets, and to speak at conferences and events
  • Promote news related to significant firm wins, new hires, major clients, and other noteworthy items
  • Monitor and distribute news coverage about our client’s successes
  • Provide recommendations for and manage website content
  • Manage firm’s events calendar
  • Plan and coordinate in-house client events and seminars
  • Plan and coordinate receptions/events/sponsorships at various conferences
  • Manage firm attendance, participation, and charitable sponsorships/contributions for client galas, golf tournaments and other events and organizations
  • Research and secure promotional products for events and gifts
  • Gather information and collaborate with attorneys regarding membership and board opportunities in local business, trade, community and charitable organizations
  • Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or similar major
  • 2-5 or more years’ experience in marketing, business development, event management and/or communications for a professional services firm – preferably a law firm or professional services firm
