Associate General Counsel – Austin
Duvera Consulting is partnering with a growing energy and infrastructure development company seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its Austin-based legal team.
This is a high-impact in-house role for an attorney who enjoys building legal infrastructure, supporting complex development projects, and serving as a practical business partner across the organization. The position reports directly to the General Counsel and offers significant autonomy, visibility, and responsibility.
The ideal candidate will bring strong in-house legal experience within energy, power, renewables, or infrastructure development, with the ability to manage contracts, regulatory matters, entity administration, outside counsel, and legal operations in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities include supporting project development and transactions, negotiating and drafting project-level and corporate agreements, coordinating regulatory and permitting matters, managing corporate governance and entities, overseeing outside counsel, and helping create legal processes that support continued growth.
Qualified candidates should have a J.D., active Texas bar membership or eligibility for admission, and at least six years of relevant in-house legal experience. Experience with site control, interconnection agreements, PPAs/offtake agreements, EPC or construction contracts, environmental permitting, and legal process-building is strongly preferred.
This role is well-suited for a self-directed attorney with strong commercial judgment who enjoys being close to the business and providing clear, practical legal guidance. Occasional travel to project sites or off-site meetings may be required.
