Professional Assistant – Public Finance | Houston
Our client, a highly regarded international law firm, is seeking a Professional Assistant to join its Public Finance practice in Houston. This position offers the opportunity to support attorneys on sophisticated municipal finance transactions while serving as a key member of a collaborative and highly respected legal team.
The Professional Assistant will provide both administrative and transactional support throughout the lifecycle of public finance matters, helping coordinate complex documentation, manage closing logistics, and ensure transactions move efficiently from inception through completion.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation, revision, and organization of transaction documents
- Coordinating transaction closings, including execution of documents, preparation of closing binders, and distribution of final materials
- Managing attorney calendars, meetings, travel arrangements, and client communications
- Coordinating conference calls, video meetings, and meeting logistics
- Maintaining organized electronic and physical client files
- Preparing attorney time entries and assisting with billing-related activities
- Processing expense reimbursements and supporting new matter intake procedures
- Serving as a professional point of contact for attorneys, clients, vendors, and third parties
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of public finance or transactional legal support experience preferred
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology platforms
- Excellent communication, client service, and interpersonal skills
- Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
