Commercial Litigation Attorney (5–7 Years) – ONSITE
Our client is seeking a Commercial Litigation Attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment and enjoys tackling complex business disputes. This role is ideal for a litigator who wants meaningful responsibility, regular courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to work closely with sophisticated corporate clients.
The Role
This position plays a critical role in representing corporate clients in high-stakes commercial disputes, from early strategy through trial and resolution. The attorney will be entrusted with significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and meaningful advocacy opportunities.
Key Responsibilities

Advocacy & Courtroom Leadership

Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings

Serve as lead counsel in smaller arbitrations and trials and as second chair or co-lead in larger matters

Handle evidentiary arguments, motion practice, and witness examinations

Complex Litigation Management

Manage commercial litigation matters involving breach of contract, corporate governance, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and antitrust issues

Oversee cases from inception through trial and post-trial proceedings

Legal Research & Written Advocacy

Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis

Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other litigation filings with precision and clarity

Strategic Client Counseling

Advise corporate clients on litigation strategy, risk management, compliance, and dispute resolution

Provide guidance on business decisions related to ongoing and potential litigation

Negotiation & Resolution

Participate in and lead settlement negotiations aimed at achieving favorable outcomes

Collaboration & Team Leadership

Work closely with partners, associates, paralegals, and clients to develop litigation strategy

Collaborate with expert witnesses, consultants, and vendors

Mentor junior attorneys and legal staff

Case & Practice Management

Manage discovery, trial preparation, witness coordination, and post-trial matters

Maintain accurate billing records and documentation in accordance with firm standards

Qualifications
-
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
-
Active Texas bar membership, in good standing

5–7 years of commercial litigation experience

Meaningful experience handling depositions and in-court advocacy

Trial experience, including direct and cross-examination of witnesses (preferred)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Proficiency with legal research tools and litigation software

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
