Communications Coordinator – HYBRID
International law firm has a newly created role for their communication team. You will be an integral member of the firm’s communications team, the Communications Coordinator supports the development of awards and rankings nominations, as well as other communications initiatives. They work closely with the Senior Communications Manager and other members of the communications team in researching, writing and editing directory, award and survey submissions that raise the firm’s profile. The incumbent manages timelines and editorial calendars to ensure submissions are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
The Communications Coordinator will:

  • Support end-to-end management of legal directory and awards submissions, including drafting, proofreading, editing and preparing nominations for submission
  • Track deadlines and progress using internal calendars and project management tools to help ensure submissions are made in a timely manner
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews among lawyers and researchers at various directories; assist in preparing interview notes and guidance
  • Research new awards and rankings opportunities to help raise the firm’s brand profile
  • Draft news items to promote favorable results, both externally and internally
  • Track and benchmark results, including year-over-year performance against peer firms
  • Create initial drafts of headcount and financial surveys
  • Edit and proofread content produced by the communications team for clarity, accuracy and consistency with the firm’s editorial style guide

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications or journalism
  • Minimum of three years of work experience. Experience working in a law firm a plus
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, including attention to detail regarding correct word choice, syntax, spelling and grammar
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills. Self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in meeting deadlines
  • Effective verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Able to handle confidential and sensitive material
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, iManage and Teams
